Set your starting point

Useful foundations: Linux, networking and basic scripting help. Discuss a foundation path if these are new to you.

Explore the learning roadmap

Understand delivery and cloud basics

Trace how a source-code change becomes a running application. Distinguish compute, storage, networking and managed services before assembling a deployment pipeline.

Work with Linux and Git

Use files, processes, permissions and version-control history to investigate a small application. Practise readable commits and reviewable changes rather than copying commands without understanding their effect.

Design access and networking

Identify which service needs access to which resource. Discuss least privilege, security groups and secret handling, using a lab account rather than real production credentials.

Automate build and release steps

Separate build, test and deployment stages. Make failures visible and keep configuration outside source code so the same application can move between controlled environments.

Explore containers and infrastructure as code

Explain the purpose of an image, container and declarative infrastructure definition. Compare the repeatability benefits with the responsibility to review permissions, changes and resource costs.

Operate and recover

Read logs and health indicators, plan rollback and check a recovery procedure. Learn how budgets, resource cleanup and access reviews belong alongside deployment speed.

Put the ideas into context

AWS & DevOps: a worked study example

Illustrative scenario for discussion and self-study.

Imagine a small application with a working release and a proposed update. The update fails its health check. Sketch how the deployment keeps users on the working version, records the failure and lets an operator investigate before another attempt.

What to check in your work

How this pathway compares

Cloud services provide infrastructure capabilities; DevOps connects development and operations through repeatable delivery. Compare Docker and Kubernetes for packaging and orchestration, and networking foundations if infrastructure concepts are new to you.

Check your reasoning

What would you record before attempting a failed deployment again?

Suggested explanation

Record the release identifier, failing health check, relevant logs and the last working version. Establish a rollback decision and fix the reproducible cause before retrying. Repeating a deployment without that evidence makes it harder to distinguish recovery from another failure.

Plan the conversation

Ask about the actual syllabus, practical environment and feedback arrangements. Confirm fees, duration, trainer and current batch schedule directly; this sheet supplies none of those details.
